Abstract
Supplemental information
For more information on the dataset and more UV-related data, see: https://www.temis.nl/uvradiation/UVarchive/uviec.php
Data quality notice
For 10 minutes with insufficient sunlight to determine the UV index or when cloud cover data is missing, the entries use fill-values (-1.0).

| Purpose | The UV index is an important piece of information for warning the public about the risk of sunburn. KNMI produces such data based on satellite observations of the thickness of the ozone layer and cloudiness derived from measurements by the Meteosat Third Generation (MTG) satellites. Dutch RIVM (National Institute for Public Health and the Environment) and Belgian KMI (Royal Meteorological Institute) have asked to make that data public so that they can use it for their warnings and to build a service on that data. |
