Abstract

The European Meteorological Aircraft Derived Data Center (EMADDC), accessible at emaddc.eu, processes aircraft surveillance data to generate observations related to wind speed, wind direction, and temperature. This dataset incorporates observational data derived from surveillance inputs provided by various sources and is produced at regular intervals (5 minutes) with frequent updates and with less than a minute latency.

This represents one of three restricted EMADDC datasets:

  • The EMADDC MO Global Dataset, which includes observations generated using data provided by the MET Office Global project.
  • The EMADDC General Dataset (this dataset), which contains observations from various sources, excluding data from the MET Office Global project.
  • The EMADDC General and MO Global Dataset, which combines the General Dataset and the MO Global Dataset, with duplicate observations between these datasets removed. The use of the two individual datasets listed above is discouraged; users are advised to download this dataset instead.
