Abstract

Current operational HARMONIE information in gridded form of selected parameters at all model levels from the UWC-West HARMONIE-AROME Cy46 model. The P5 package contains 4 model parameters for almost the whole of the model domain and at all model levels, reprojected to a rotated lat-lon grid of 0.05° in both directions. This package can be used to e.g. determine the precipitation type that the atmosphere allows, or produce atmospheric profiles through the whole of the model domain. For this weather forecast model, KNMI works closely with Iceland, Denmark and Ireland on local short-term weather forecasts under the name "United Weather Centres-West" (UWC-West). An international project team is working on a joint Numerical Weather Prediction model (NWP), procurement and management of the HPC (supercomputer) and infrastructure. The output frequency is 1 hour, the forecast horizon is 60 hours.

Data quality notice

HARMONIE cycle 46 is still in the experimental (test) phase. The dataset therefore may be not be complete at first.

Only the last 72 hours of HARMONIE p5 data are retained.
