Abstract

The North Sea shipping forecast covers the North Sea, divided into 5 districts: Dogger, German Bight, Humber, Thames and Dover. The North Sea shipping forecast is issued twice a day at 10:00 and 22:00 LT and covers a period of 24 hours beginning at 09:00 and 21:00 UTC respectively.The forecast contains wind warnings in force (≥7 Bft) and a forecast of: general synopsis, wind direction and force, weather and visibility for the districts mentioned above. For the time indication, 'first' or 'soon' are used for a change in the weather in the first 4 hours of the time block, 'later' is used to indicate a change in the last 4 hours. The data is published in two different formats: txt and xml.
